I chatted to the lecturing faculty of a post-graduate qualification to help them understand student challenges and how to incorporate mindset, strategy and skills into their students' study advice. If I'm giving students advice, I want to make sure that their subject-matter experts and I are on the same page, if possible... we don't want to confuse students! This part of the discussion was about students' need for that feeling of 'confidence', and how it impacts their studying. Make no mistake, I WANT students to feel confident... my only problem is that we're generally o VERY different pages about what confidence actually IS!
