I keep Our Daily Bread for Preschoolers in the basket as an option for a more structured devotional. It has a Bible verse at the top, a very simple explanation, and a simple prayer at the bottom. Samuel doesn’t reach for it as much as my other devotional, but we do use it sometimes.
