Does curation actually make a difference on Medium?

Curation on Medium is a very sticky subject. Some people love it, others hate it, most don't understand it. The problem I get asked about most often is that folks think curation is a silver bullet - once you're curated, you're guaranteed 1000s of views on your Medium story. The truth is (as always with Medium) a little more complicated. This video describes as close to an actual scientific study as I could make: 2 nearly identical stories, published 2 weeks apart, with similar titles, content, and images.
