Early Winter Bass Fishing (15 Years+ Since I've Fished This Lake!!!)

I had two days to play and decided to take a 4 1/2 hour drive to a beautiful mountain lake in Southwestern Virginia for some early winter bass fishing. I have not fished this lake in over 15 years and was looking for the smallmouth bass that this lake is know for. The water temps were in the low 50s and with high pressure and bluebird skies, the early winter bass fishing was tough. I figured some things out and was able to land a few largemouth and smallmouth bass and even tangled with a toothy critter before it pulled free.
