BLADE BAIT TIME (Early Winter Smallmouth Bass Fishing w/ My Buddy)

The water temperatures dropped, but the air temperatures were on the rise! It's snowing now, but the Mid-Atlantic experienced another mini heat wave last week so I took advantage of the perfect weather and hit the mountain lake for some early winter bass fishing. I kicked off the day with a nice smallmouth fishing a jerkbait, but the bites were not there like they were on past visits. With water temps in the low to mid 40s, it was time to break out the blade bait and put it to work. The Original Silver Buddy did most of the damage with good numbers and decent size smallmouth bass falling victim to the 1/2 ounce blade bait in the cold water. I also caught a few on a couple of other blade baits while mixing things up.
