Malawi’s Agricultural Reforms - A New Beginning for Smallholder Farmers

In just a few years, Malawi is turning around its food sector in unprecedented ways, steering the engine that is its Affordable Input Subsidy Program in a new direction. In Malawi, agriculture is the lifeblood of the economy, comprising one third of the country’s GDP. But farmers are vulnerable to climate shocks, such as the devastating droughts of 2024.
