Emerson - Wintergatan Demo (2011)

Here’s the story behind this upload: I’m in New York meeting friends, so I haven’t had time to record new videos. I’ll be back in Sweden at the end of November and will continue with the Monster Music Box design then. In the meantime, my mom has been on my case for ages, insisting I make this unreleased demo track available as a standalone video on the channel. The track was a bit too much in every sense to be included on the album :) My mom has also been telling me I should play more music in the technical videos, which turned into a bit of a meme, with people saying she’s right about that. We’ll see if she’s right about this one too. “I’m always right,” she likes to remind me often… This video is from 2011, and it shows the house in the Swedish forest where I made the first Wintergatan songs. I lived there alone for six months with no internet or cell phone connection, and it’s one of my fondest memories from the early Wintergatan days. The red telephone was my only means of communication. One day, a beaver felled a tree on the phone line, and the connection was down for a whole week. Anyway, seeing the Manhattan skyline from Brooklyn yesterday was amazing. It really is a city that lives up to its reputation. It’s my first time here and I’m wide-eyed and inspired :) I hope to play here someday in the future.
