About This Video

Google just launched their official Android emulator, and in this video I walk you through exactly how it works on PC and why it feels smoother than a lot of other options out there. I show you where to download the stable edition of the Google Play Games emulator, how the installation goes (it’s the usual Google-style setup), and what the first experience looks like once you swipe up and start using it. Right away you’ll notice it’s super smooth—but also a bit “hidden” in terms of controls. I also cover the big limitations: you won’t see navigation buttons or obvious settings inside the emulator, and the Play Store looks empty with a bunch of popular games missing. So I show my method to install custom apps manually using a free tool from the Microsoft Store called “a tools” (WSA sideloaders). I explain how to link the emulator via Command Prompt, then drag-and-drop APKs to install them. Finally, I share a weird screen issue I ran into (it fixes itself after a minute or two), and I show where the real settings are—inside the system tray—so you can tweak aspect ratio, mouse input, switch graphics output to your internal GPU, and even boost FPS up to 144Hz.
