About This Video

If you apply all these steps I show you till the end, I can guarantee it’ll definitely make your PC feel like a new one. In this video, I jump straight into 5 simple but effective “secret” settings I personally use to cut down lag and speed things up—without wasting your time. First, I go to Task Manager > Startup and disable the apps that don’t need to launch every time Windows boots (just don’t touch system programs). That alone can make startup and overall responsiveness way better. Next, I show you how background Windows Update activity can slow you down, and what I do about it from Services. I disable the Windows Update service and stop it (plus stop the service right below it), because constant background updates can eat performance and storage—especially on the system drive. After that, I clean temporary junk using Disk Cleanup, then uninstall programs you don’t need from Control Panel to free up space and reduce unnecessary load. Finally, I explain why your system drive getting packed (from default installs and updates) is a major reason PCs start lagging—and if you still feel slow after all this, my last fix is reinstalling Windows.
