About This Video

In this video I’m walking you through my soft sugar cookies recipe—simple, classic, and honestly one of those “you can’t mess it up” doughs if you follow the chill steps. I share the full ingredient list (sugar, egg, room-temp unsalted butter, vanilla, salt, baking powder, and all-purpose flour) and the exact order I mix everything so you get that soft texture without overworking the dough. This is Part 1, so we’re focusing on getting the dough right and setting it up for clean cut-out shapes. My biggest takeaway is: don’t skip the fridge time. I roll the dough into a ball, cut it in half, wrap it, and chill it for at least 20 minutes, then roll it out on parchment, cut your shapes, and chill again for at least 20 minutes before baking. While they chill, I preheat the oven to 350°F and bake anywhere from 8–15 minutes depending on thickness. Let them cool and enjoy—these are perfect for decorating later, gifting, or just snacking while I’m in my craft room working on resin and DIYs.
