SoCal Surf Fishing Oxnard — Big Chunky Perch BROKE My Okuma Rockaway SP

In this video, we hit the beach in Oxnard, California for a solid day of surf fishing, mainly targeting barred surf perch with the Carolina Rig and my Okuma Rockaway SP surf rod. The perch bite was decent, and I managed to land some really good-sized fish right from the shore. I was also hoping to run into a striped bass or halibut while working the surf, but it was way too windy to try the Lucky Craft jerk bait. Unfortunately, I broke the tip of my Okuma Rockaway SP on the very first fish of the day and had to switch to my backup rod to keep the session going, but it got the job done.
