I wanted to love the 31 so badly (the silhouette, the top handles, all the details), but mine kept slouching and tipping forward whether it was empty or packed, and the weight + the $750 price tag had me feeling conflicted. I’m being ruthless this year with what stays in my collection, and I’m not keeping a bag just because I love the idea of it. With the Rogue 34, I show you the layout, the pockets, the magnetic closures, the feet, the lock/hangtag details, and I walk through what actually fits—my catchall, safety kit, keys, AirPods, wallet, hand cream, and even a book and my Hobonichi Techo (in a pinch). The big surprise? Even though I usually discount East/West bags, this one looks more put together on me and feels more balanced. It also works perfectly for my real mom life—especially how low-profile it is on my center console when I’m driving a car full of kiddos. By the end, I go through all the stages of mourning the Rogue 31 and land on my final answer: I prefer the Rogue 34. It’s that chameleon bag—quiet-bougie, dress it up or down, carry a lot, and still feel prim and proper without being too stuffy.
