I’m so deep in my Coach era right now, and this drop is completely within my wheelhouse: the aesthetic, the colorways, all of it. In this video I’m walking you through my very real (very first-world) dilemma: I picked up two Merlot beauties and I need you to help me decide which one stays. The contenders are the Coach Brooklyn 28 in Merlot and the Coach Empire 28 in Merlot. I talk through why the Brooklyn is stunning (this rich, wine-y Merlot with no burnished edges is so good), but also why shoulder bags are usually my downfall—on my body, the Brooklyn wants to slide and the strap drop feels too long for an easy crook-of-the-arm carry. Then there’s the Empire 28, which I already know works for me (I’m down to just a couple Empires because they actually fit my lifestyle). The twist? The burnished edges I thought I wanted… initially threw me off, but in natural light they really do it for me.
