In this episode I’m going through an awesome walk-in collection, and it’s the kind of spread that makes owning a small coin shop fun—silver everywhere, early U.S. stuff, and a few curveballs mixed in. I dig into pieces like an 1886-O Morgan Dollar and a classic Bust Half Dollar, and I also run into a counterfeit Trade Dollar (and yeah, that’s a good reminder that not everything that looks right is right). On top of the better coins, I spend time picking through a big stash of 90% “junk” silver—quarters, dimes, halves—the kind of constitutional silver a lot of stackers love because it’s recognizable and easy to move. I also show some of the oddball history that walks through the door, like vintage state tax tokens. That’s one of my favorite parts of these hunts: even when it’s not a high-dollar coin, it’s still a piece of the past.
