Asking Locals In Cornwall Their Opinion On Holiday Homes 🇬🇧

There is more to Cornwall than a summer holiday by the sea! It seems a few of my recent videos have stirred the pot when it comes to highlighting the division between locals and visitors in Cornwall. I decided to take to the streets of the village of Mousehole, which is an acute example of the holiday home and AirBnB controversy, to speak to the locals. The proliferation of holiday-focused accommodation has intensified greatly here in recent years. This is a complicated economic, social and political issue. Most locals accept that tourism and economic growth are needed in the county, but believe a finer balance is required with regard to the ecosystem of local needs and that of visitors. The issue of second homes, often empty for many months of the year, is incredibly controversial.
