In this video I share my story of how I went from spending most of my free time playing computer games to getting seriously into programming. Back when my parents bought me a computer in school, I installed everything—NFS, Counter-Strike, Warcraft—and I was just gaming without really thinking about becoming a developer. But the turning point was when games started throwing errors: they wouldn’t launch, they crashed, or they needed something like DirectX. Instead of giving up, I got curious and started fixing those issues, and that curiosity pulled me into how computers actually work. From there I went deeper—reading about memory, the processor, the graphics card, and how games are made. My first language was C++ because I wanted to become a game developer, and I even built simple games. But I didn’t turn it into a career because I wanted to start earning money, and primitive games weren’t paying the bills. So I switched to web development, started freelancing, and that’s how gaming basically led me into software engineering. If you’re in the same situation, my takeaway is simple: follow the curiosity—sometimes “fixing one crash” becomes your whole career.
