About This Video

In this video, I show you how to use Google Nearby Share on Windows 10/11 the correct way so you can transfer files between Android and PC super fast—and it’s absolutely free. I walk you through how to download the official Nearby Share app for Windows from Google, install it (you’ll see it download as the “Better Together” setup), and then open “Nearby Share from Google” on your PC. I also show you the basic setup: you can sign in, but for this tutorial I use it without any account, then set your visible name and choose who can send to you (No one / Contacts / Everyone) using temporary or permanent mode. After that, I cover the important settings that people usually miss: Bluetooth is required, and for Android you must turn on Wi‑Fi, Bluetooth, and Location. By default the Windows app stays hidden for security, so when you’re ready to receive, you need to switch to “Receive from everyone.” Then I demonstrate both directions—Android to PC (accept on the PC) and PC to Android (select file/folder on PC, then accept on the phone). The takeaway is simple: Nearby Share is the smoothest and fastest cross‑platform file sharing tool I’ve tested so far for photos, videos, documents, audio, and even folders.
