What are tokens? Token is a hidden unit behind LLM limits and costs. AI doesn't read words - it reads tokens. A token is the basic unit of text AI models process, close to a word but not the same. One word can be one token, several tokens, or several words can become one. Tokens are like building blocks for the language: humans care about meaning, models operate on pieces. Inside an AI model, everything is measured in tokens: input (your prompt and history), output (the reply), and the context window (how much text the model can hold). One token is roughly four characters. 128,000 tokens are like several hundred pages. That is why prompts have limits, long chats get cut off, and providers charge per token. Once you understand tokens, limits and costs stop feeling arbitrary. ▶️ Full playlist: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL3pL28ov_GlKZ8fgcP04yi_nBuBc_i65C 📦 Join us in Telegram: https://t.me/unreasonableai Start tagging your content to indicate this is generated by Human (or not?).
