Heath Black played 54-games with the St Kilda Football Club over three seasons, involved in a period of immense growth, arriving at the club in 2002 after five seasons at Fremantle. He played a major role in the development of a young Saints squad, culminating in an appearance in the 2004 Preliminary Final loss to Port Adelaide - one that he says still stings - before moving back to Fremantle ahead of the 2005 season due to family reasons. Having worked for the AFL's mental health team and now in local football since retirement following the 2008 season, Black is a strong advocate of support for men's mental health, both in football and in society.
