YouTube has just introduced new thumbnail options for YouTube Shorts! 🎉 If you've been waiting for custom thumbnails, this update is... a step in the right direction, but not quite what creators were hoping for. You can now add text, filters, and emojis to your Shorts thumbnails—yay! But there’s still no option to upload fully custom thumbnails. 😔 Here’s What’s New: Select a frame from your Short. Add text, emojis, or filters. Update your thumbnail even after your Short is uploaded. While these updates are helpful, especially for creators looking for quick, simple edits, many of us are still missing the one feature we really want—complete control with custom thumbnail uploads. 📸 Thumbnails matter, especially for search results, your channel page, and Google searches. And, believe it or not, most Shorts views come from outside the Shorts feed, where thumbnails are key to getting clicks. What’s Next?
