The Loneliness Epidemic: Why We’re More Alone Than Ever | True Lives

This short documentary introduces a group of individuals who talk about their attachment styles and how they link to their experience of loneliness. Dr Sofia Likhacheva, an expert in both loneliness and attachment disorders, explains the reasons behind the loneliness epidemic and discusses ways that they can combat it. Lara’s attachment style is disorganised / fearful-avoidant and her loneliness story is linked with her twin sister being diagnosed with anorexia when they were thirteen years old. Marie has a secure attachment style, and her loneliness story is linked with the social isolation she has of being a mother. Lukasz attachment style is avoidant / dismissive and he noticed some time ago that he doesn’t enjoy crowds which generally exhausts him. Curtis has a secure attachment style.
