We planted intermediate-day onion plants from HOSS because they’re actually meant for our area here in North Carolina, and I’m hoping that means bigger bulbs and better storage. The plants we got were beautiful—about as good as it gets—and we had plenty to share with family.

Pros

  • +Offers onion varieties suited to regional daylength needs
  • +Healthy, strong onion plants with a lot of starts in a bundle
  • +Good option if local stores only carry one-size-fits-all varieties

Cons

  • -More plants than some families need unless you share or plant big
  • -Results still depend on weather and curing/storage conditions
