I learned to code 4 years ago, self-taught, at age 34. I'm bad at math and don't have a Computer Science Degree. This never mattered in my two years of freelancing. It also didn't matter in my first software job with on Golf.com. But in the current job I'm in, things are different. I've run into issues fairly often where I lacked knowledge in certain areas. While I had to spend some time doing some research to keep up, my CS grad co-workers breezed on through it.
