Cartagena, Colombia is a cruise destination rich in history, beautifully coloured buildings and amazing food. During our Princess cruise in 2023 we explored Cartagena on our own and had a great day without the cost of an expensive shore excursion. We did use the Hop On Hop Off Bus to get to the historic old city but would pass on this option if returning and use a taxi. We visited the amazing area of Getsemani and instantly fell in love with its atmosphere and beautiful murals. This video is one in a series we are putting together for people who like to explore ports on their own, stick to a budget and take things at their own pace. We have included what things cost us and how much we got to do in our one day port stop in Cartagena. We share our thoughts on how safe we felt and if we had concerns. We hope you enjoy watching and get some ideas for your own visit to Cartagena. If you have seen any of our other videos in the series, you can skip the series intro by going to 1:59.
