A turned goblet with two captive rings is a traditional wedding gift in Irish culture. Turning a ringed goblet or chalice is a VERY fun project that is not as difficult as it might seem. The goblet in this video is my third attempt, and the first one where I use an actual ring tool. On my first two I used a 3/8" spindle gouge to shape the ring and a thin parting tool to finish the separation (as you will see in the second ring on this video). Honestly, I thought it was just as easy without the ring tool, and the rings turned out just as good. Hope you'll make a turned wedding goblet with captured wooden rings too.
