The founder, Jérôme Ménière, started Vision-IQ to save lives by detecting potential drowning victims in pools. That product became Poseidon, which has saved hundreds of lives. However, it required developing novel computer vision and lens distortion correction techniques. The team went on to found DO and then DxO to bring those same technologies to the photography community. First, by improving early phone cameras. They then developed systems for accurately measuring lens quality (which later went on to become DxO Mark). They created a unique camera that connected directly to an iPhone to produce better quality images: the DxO One.
