ALUMINUM FLASHING

I used this aluminum flashing to add shielding to the bottom of the cabinet, so the chassis and cabinet form a nice little Faraday cage. It’s thin enough to score-and-snap easily, but still durable once it’s stapled down and clamped by the chassis screws. For the money, it does the job and keeps me from chasing noise later.

Pros

  • +Easy to cut by scoring and snapping
  • +Helps create shielding/Faraday cage with the chassis
  • +Inexpensive and widely available

Cons

  • -Comes curled from the roll and needs flattening
  • -Drilling leaves burrs and metal chips that must be cleaned up
