Can this (NON - GOPRO) Hero5 Audio Adapter work?

Currently the GoPro Adapter is on sale at Amazon https://amzn.to/2IKXGbl This video is for owners & new comers to the GoPro Hero 5 and the GoPro Hero 6 camera who don't want to buy the expensive Pro 3.5mm Mic Adapter to attach an external Microphone to the Action H5 & H6 Cameras. I purchased a less expensive adapter; however, it doesn't work. This video shows what happens if you plug in a non - GoPro Mic Adapter. After producing this video, I realized it was a little boring.
