I never Pay Full Price ( Negotiate ) - And if I don’t negotiate is because I already know I'm getting a good deal on whatever I’m buying - Did know in a lot of countries outside of the US, they have a culture where negation is a part of it - For example: Here in the Dominican Republic: - Buying real estate: they will list a $100k house for $300k dollars to see if an idiot will come by and buy it and sometimes they do ( but they expect to negotiate ) - Buying Meat: Here we have meat markets like farmer's market, where you can negotiate with the person can get a better price My advice is: - Learn the art of negation and I learned by selling phones - Watching videos - And reading a book called “ Never Split the Difference “ Latest Deal: I Negotiated an item that sells for over $3,000 for less than 2k, that’s a lot of savings, and the more expensive the item the larger the savings 2. I always buy Used - I started doing this because I was broke - Then I started doing it because I realized how much sense it makes - Buying some new is you paying to be the first to use it, it says nothing about the condition of the item For example: - I bought a Toyota Prius Used for $9,000 - The original buyer bought it for $22,000 and all the fees that are included in the sticker price - I paid half off, and the car still had over 10 years I would say of life in it ( I don’t get care if you got the new car smell, I can buy a spray and get that to ) Here is my last big deal doing this: - I bought a house that was used for 130k - And then sold it for 170k I think it was, I broke even because I was pretty dumb with the repair - But that’s a lot of savings 3. Always Pay Cash - I started doing this for several reason First: - You get discounts when you offer cash Second: - You spend less money you pay cash Third: - You don’t go into debt when you pay cash 4. I never lend money ( transaction maybe but no loans ) - At a certain point in my life I lent a lot of money - And it changes the relationships between friends and family - And you see how someone can literally dig a whole and you benefit from it Today: - I do short transactions, I like my mom needs to buy a plane ticket, I purchase she gives me the money - Or someone wants to buy something online, I buy they may me - But that’s out of convenience it's not me lending or giving some money and charing interest and so on Ps. I haven’t faced any angry people about this, it's so easy to borrow money from other people and banks that no one cares, but I do 5.
