A lot of the therapy depends on what the child is comfortable with doing. When working on gross motor you might go outside to play, and with fine motor we may stay inside to play. In the clinic the child is usually in a chair at the desk, and parents are not usually present. In the home the parents are usually present and involved, which is great. If there is a sibling there who may be causing distractions, then we may engage the sibling to be a part of the therapy as well. Therapy is more difficult when the parents are not present because they then may not know what to do when they do get home.
