My favourite self-sewn clothes of 2017

Let's take a look at my favourite self-sewn clothes of 2017. I did quite a lot of makes but in this video, I have picked the top five clothes I sewed this year. In July I made a wrap dress heavily inspired by Dianne Von Furstenberg's iconic wrap dresses. I used a Butterick pattern but made a lot of changes to make more similar to a DvF dress. These cigarette pants from Burdastyle were the second pair I made and I'm happy to report that these are now my favourite pair of trousers! Made from dark brown stretch bengaline they are so comfortable and I love the fit and design features of this pattern. The leggings have curved mesh insets, a back waistband pocket and side pockets. I also did a pair of shorts using a similar design. Both patterns I designed myself. I let the fabric do the speaking and probably spent as much time aligning the print than I did on actually sewing the cardigan. I added pockets for more practicality but apart from that I didn't do any modifications http://www.thelaststitch.com/2017/07/knip-mode-cardigan-07-2016-25/ I'm a huge fan of Burdastyle and this was the third time I made this blouse pattern. The puff sleeves and piped cuffs were my own additions and I used a nice silk/cotton sateen fabric from Michael Kaufman.
