LIVE: Sewing and Body Image

I've spent a lot of time thinking about the relationship between sewing and body image because let's be honest, it's extremely hard to shelter ourselves from the constant value and focus that is directed towards our bodies in today's society. Luckily sewing gives us some agency over that since it's a skill and perspective that makes us less dependent on what society tells us is a standard body that we have to conform to. But I don't think sewing makes us completely immune to this, and I also wonder if the heavy emphasis on "perfect fit" can create a new set of issues.
