I don’t know about you all, but even though it is the dead of winter, I am ready for summertime and all those bright and tropical summertime drinks. This whiskey passion fizz was one of my favorite drinks that we served at Jean- Georges' Spice Market in the Meatpacking District, which has unfortunately since closed. Its been many years since I’ve made one, and I have been craving that tart and spicy cocktail. I’ve added some of my own tweaks to the original and think it worked out quite well. Ginger Passion Chili Syrup: 1/2 cup simple syrup 1/2 cup seedless passionfruit 1 finger chili 1 one inch piece of ginger Blend until smooth. Cacao Bourbon: 1 tbsp cacao nibs- toasted 4 oz Elijah Craig Bourbon Spicy Cocoa Passion: 1 1/2 oz ginger passion chili syrup 1 1/2 oz cacao infused whiskey Shake for a full 10 seconds Double strain into a rocks glass over 1 large ice cube.
