Developments in India’s Foreign Policy Toward Myanmar

India, with its strategic interests in the region, has had to navigate a delicate balance between supporting Myanmar’s democratic aspirations and safeguarding its own national security, particularly along the shared border. As the resistance continues to make unprecedented territorial gains and the junta loses further control, India is forced to consider engagement with new stakeholders in the country. Featured in the discussion is Angshuman Choudhury, an expert on Myanmar’s domestic politics and India’s foreign policy, who is currently pursuing a joint PhD from the National University of Singapore and King’s College London.
