TIPS FOR PICKY EATERS & TODDLERS THROWING FOOD:At Home Speedy Speech Therapy Sensory Feeding Therapy

Licensed and certified early intervention speech language pathologist (M.Ed, CCC-SLP) Is your child a picky eater? Does your child constantly THROW FOOD ON THE FLOOR?! This video is for you!! Here are a couple of tips and tricks for helping your little one overcome being a "picky eater" through exploring new foods, textures and flavors! Step 1) Turn off the iPad and TV during meal times! - This greatly reduces your child attention to food, flavors and textures! Step 2) Increase EXPOSURE to new foods by using a TRI-SECTION plate and providing a new food at every meal! AND incorporate food in play!!! (put strawberries or pulled chicken on your child's favorite toy train and play choo choo with them!) Step 3) REPLACE the behavior of throwing food on the ground with placing food gently in the "No Thank You" bowl (that you make!) Keep this bowl in sight/reach at ALL times throughout the day! - MODEL what you want your child to do over and over again! These tips and tricks have worked for BEHAVIORAL feeding concerns.
