HOW TO POTTY TRAIN A CHILD WITH A SPEECH DELAY: Fast, At Home Potty Training Tips for Toddlers!

Licensed and certified speech and language pathologist (M.Ed, CCC-SLP in early intervention) Here is my #1 way to potty train a toddler with or without a speech or language delay! Try this at home at comment down below if this worked for you and your toddler! Step 1) Write down your child's feeding schedule and keep track of this daily Step 2) Make a chart and collect data for 3-4 days of when your child goes to the bathroom (round up/down to the nearest 30 minutes if possible) Step 3) After you have a narrowed down time frame, provide positive reinforcement for your child to sit on the potty every 10 minutes within the narrowed down time frame (i.e. 10 AM - 11 AM) by offering them a treat, tickles, a game of patty cake, singing songs, candy, whatever motivates your child! Step 4) REWARD your child for going pee pee or poo poo in the potty!!!! LOTS of attention, verbal praise and positive reinforcement (TREATS/ATTENTION)!! Step 5) Continue to reinforce your child sitting on the potty and attempting to use the bathroom!! BOOM! You're Done! Leave a comment down below with your child's favorite reinforcer!
