THIS video is for you! Treatment for Final Consonant Deletion and/or Initial Consonant Deletion can be easy to do at home! Examples of final consonant deletion: "do" for "dog" "ho" for "hot" "re" for "red" NOT EXAMPLES: "caft" for "craft" "pay" for "play" "skeeze" for "squeeze" *WHY?! These are actually Consonant Cluster Reductions (big speech and phonological proccess term that means that kids are missing one sound in a CLUSTER of consonant sounds - often found in BL/GL/KL/SL/PL and R-blend words as well! This technique CAN work for consonant cluster reduction, BUT I would recommend separating the syllables and sounds individually and will make another video on this phonological process soon! STEPS: 1) Grab a ziplock bag 2) Write the word by each sound (for example WISH would just need 3 post-its "W I SH") - MOST Final Consonant or Initial Consonant Deletion words are CVC words (Consonant Vowel Consonant) - If your child is making OTHER errors - check out other phonological processes or typical substitutions for sounds! ----pro tip: LISTEN to the word first to ensure its the correct sound : FLOWERS (even though its spelled with an /s/ it's actually pronounced as the /z/ sound! WASHING MACHINE (the CH sound is actually pronounced as the SH sound! * these are only examples, not example target words!) 3) Say each sound as you slide the zip past each sound - making the sounds run into each other 4) EXAGGERATE! and/or use a hand cue to help! 5) Most imporantly: Reward! For attempts and trials and REWARD BIG TIME for correct productions! Begin with a single word only, then transition to using it in a phrase imitatively first and then spontaneously/independently (word level: "dog" ; phrase level: "go dog!" ; sentence level: "I see a dog!" BOOM. You're done! //HAVE FUN PRACTICING WORDS WITH YOUR CHILD USING THESE AMAZING MINIS!: _ // Sequential levels of sound development: *stay at each level until 80% accuracy is attained (4/5 trials or 8/10 trials) sound in isolation 8/10 times correctly imitated sound in isolation 8/10 times correctly independently sound in syllables 8/10 times imitated sound in syllables 8/10 times independently sound in initial position of words 8/10 times correctly imitated sound in initial position of words 8/10 times correctly independently sound in final position of words 8/10 times correctly imitated sound in final position of words 8/10 times independently sound in medial position of words 8/10 times correctly imitated sound in final position of words 8/10 times correctly independently sound in EACH position of words within an imitated sentence 8/10 times sound in each position of words within independently formulated sentence 8/10 times correctly 🎈All Inclusive Speech Sound TOUCH Hand Cues: https://youtu.be/yy1LrKg3fFs https://speedyslp.com/resources/hand-cues/ __ 🔸LANGUAGE PLAYLIST: https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLNL4Ls5aZkt-F2hsdSZje_QVT2pAA0uOV //Other Related Vids: 🔷Check out this ARTICULATION PLAYLIST: https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLNL4Ls5aZkt91WHMIfL2a9uaAhp62Mpsm 🟢 AUTISM RESOURCE VIDS: https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLNL4Ls5aZkt8jxvcJ7MmkoftCJWlzgUhB 🔺 APRAXIA PLAYLIST: https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLNL4Ls5aZkt-WFZ1tcAQpsk4PEPRB6nRg // The Best TOYS for SPEECH: https://youtu.be/o5pXMSIsZ-c // Connect with me! https://instagram.com/speedyspeech https://facebook.com/speedyspeechpath https://speedySLP.com https://teacherspayteachers.com/store/speedyspeechSLP __ 🔸LANGUAGE PLAYLIST: https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLNL4Ls5aZkt-F2hsdSZje_QVT2pAA0uOV Need more help on different sounds?! 🔷Check out this ARTICULATION PLAYLIST: https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLNL4Ls5aZkt91WHMIfL2a9uaAhp62Mpsm 🟢 AUTISM RESOURCE VIDS: https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLNL4Ls5aZkt8jxvcJ7MmkoftCJWlzgUhB 🔺TOP TIPS VIDEOS: https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLNL4Ls5aZkt965fB9jRa8E14w--_VVZtV __ 💛 Like, comment or hit thanks & subscribe for more free parent tips & tricks!
