The new Wahoo Elemnt Ace is a huge bike computer with an integrated wind sensor. But is it any good? Is it useful? I’ve tested it on a few rides, and I share my experiences here. Beyond the wind sensor, the new Elemnt Ace has many similar features to Garmin’s Edge 1050, the most robust and most expensive computer out there. The Ace has a little speaker that can talk to you with turn by turn directions. Like most computers these days, you have more metrics than you know what to do with, and you can configure pages to your liking. The Ace has a touchscreen, which is a first for Wahoo, plus six buttons. Battery life is a claimed 30+ hours. And did I mention that it’s big? This sucker is 5 inches long, nearly 3 inches wide and weighs 207 grams. It has a 3.8in screen, the largest on the market It comes with a big price tag, too, of 600 US, 600 EU and 550 pounds. -- Big thanks to my nephew Jonah Camp for shooting me riding on Thanksgiving! - Gear I use for shooting (not sponsored): Hover X1 Self-Flying Drone: https://amzn.to/3V7MUn5 DJI Mini 3 Drone: https://amzn.to/3wK4eVY GoPro Hero Black 11: https://amzn.to/3wK4eVY DJI Action Cam 4: https://amzn.to/3wK4eVY DJI Pocket Osmo 3: https://amzn.to/3wK4eVY Sony Alpha ZV-E10: https://amzn.to/3QUSqHf Sony Alpha a6300: https://amzn.to/3K7jFKK Sony E 50mm F1.8 OSS lens: https://amzn.to/3QNGh6L -- The Ride is supported in 2024 by: Castelli clothing: http://tinyurl.com/43k6pftp Perc Coffee: https://tinyurl.com/fjr7nurr (save 15% with code 'ride15') Giro helmets: http://tinyurl.com/72svzzxp Silca maintenance: https://bit.ly/47xxvzj (save 10% with code 'theridewithben10') First Endurance nutrition: https://bit.ly/41SDgqq (save 20% with code 'THERIDE') Shimano shoes & glasses: http://tinyurl.com/ye274tep Feedback Sports stands & tools: https://bit.ly/3S9Dq8r -- 0:00 overview 0:59 quick features & stats 2:50 wind sensor testing 6:19 cda & future development 10:17 navigation 13:34 Ace vs Garmin Edge & others 15:20 mounts 15:50 your questions!
