Be sure to tune in on Sunday, May 25th at 8pm EST for a night of music you won’t hear on FM airwaves! For those not in the loop, Untracked Grooves is a series I host that enables me to pursue my love for pirate radio and live-stream broadcasting. For years, people have said that I had a voice for radio (maybe it comes in the YouTube territory). The realm of radio had always piqued my interest, so pursuing this venture has been a fun DIY experience that gives joy to its viewers/listeners, and I felt it was time to revive the beast! How many people can go without hearing “Bohemian Rhapsody” or “More Than A Feeling” on their respective rock radio stations? What I’ve always prided myself with Untracked Grooves was to create an entity that was for the true music lover, someone who could appreciate beyond the radio hits. Untracked Grooves shines a light on album tracks, deep cuts, fan favorites, bootleg recordings, and more from my 2500+ piece record collection. It’s also a platform to show some love to newer acts that tend to go under the radar, leaving most people unaware of. If you trust my tastes, I won’t steer you wrong! My love for my favorite band never goes unscathed. Thus, a feature of Untracked Grooves is the Flaming Youth Rock Block, dedicated to the hottest band in the world, KISS! To make it fun, the block gets catered towards a specific theme on every stream, and this one will celebrate the 45th anniversary of the album “Unmasked.” This block will feature tracks found exclusively on that album, albeit studio versions, rarely performed live renderings, mass KISSteria from Sydney, and Ace Frehley’s final show in Auckland before the 1996 reunion. I decided to approach requests differently, instead of asking on social media and curating a requests block to the best of my abilities based on what’s in my collection. For this livestream, I enabled super chats and super stickers, where you can send a little fiscal token of patronage and mention what song/artist you want to hear; think of it as a virtual tip jar!
