This GPU power cable makes no sense (OR DOES IT?)

I've been looking at a new Corsair PSU - the HX1200i Shift. In that I found a 90 degree angled 12v-2x6 power connector that I assumed connected to the GPU. BUT the wiring guide from Corsair says that end actually connects to the PSU https://www.corsair.com/uk/en/explorer/diy-builder/power-supply-units/corsair-hxi-shift-series/ I wanted confirmation of this because it was illogical to me, so I spoke to Corsair directly and asked them about it. This is their response. "Since you’re working with a SHIFTED PSU, you have limited space between the PSU and the side-panel. Typically 30cm. The 12V-2x6 has a bend limitation as well. They expect your bend radius to be 35-40mm, which is actually is more than you’ll be able to find in most side panel installations with a SHIFT PSU. To solve this, we use a 90° connector on the PSU side, which safely “pre-bends” the cable and shoots it off towards the front of the PC where it can be safely routed towards the GPU." This actually makes a lot of sense. It means the cable won't suffer from being bent and weirdly angled and should be safer. i.e. it might not melt?
