Today I have a video on a short lived series of records from the early 1960's called United Artists Ultra Audio. Easily recognized by the striking high gloss fully laminated gatefold jackets, signature black spines, "Wall To Wall Stereo" banner and distinctive graphics and photography, this series of 10 or so albums really raised the bar for "audiophile" records. United Artists Ultra Audio took many cues from the enormous success of Command Records, and their best selling Persuasive Percussion series. The records often included artists that recorded for Command also, such as Terry Snyder, Tony Mottola, Doc Severnson, and Urbie Green. They used the best recording engineers, mastering engineers, pressing plants, printers, and equipment to produce this special series. In this video, I highlight a few of these special records to alert you to be on the lookout for these gems in the bargain bins. 00:00 Introduction 00:26 History 03:04 Mister Percussion 06:07 Guitars Woodwinds and Bongos 07:20 Return Of The Doodletown Fifers 08:52 Gentle Purr-cussion 10:17 Conclusion If you particularly enjoyed this video, please consider a small one time donation to the channel!
