Big news for audiophiles and Sinatra fans alike! Blue Note’s Tone Poet series has announced an all-analog mono reissue of Frank Sinatra’s In the Wee Small Hours of the Morning, originally released in 1955 on Capitol Records. This is one of the greatest vocal albums of all time—one of the very first true “concept albums,” arranged and conducted by the legendary Nelson Riddle, filled with torch songs by some of the greatest American composers. The mood is intimate, lonely, and deeply emotional, with Sinatra at his most vulnerable and expressive. This new AAA pressing will be mastered by Kevin Gray at Cohearent Audio and overseen by Joe Harley, the Tone Poet himself. It’s a stunning choice for the series and a rare opportunity to own a Capitol Sinatra record reissued at the very highest level of fidelity. If this release does well, there’s hope for Only the Lonely, Where Are You, No One Cares, Songs for Swingin’ Lovers, and more. Let’s make sure this one sells strong so we can see the whole Capitol catalog done AAA! 👉 Are you planning to grab a copy? Let me know in the comments! NOTE!
