Living Stereo Vinyl Comparison RCA Victor Living Stereo LSC 2405 - .Sibelius Symphony No. 5, Karelia Suite - Alexander Gibson conducting The London Symphony Orchestra. Today I have an interesting comparison of four different pressings of a classic Living Stereo title. I recently picked up the still in-print Analogue Productions edition, which is mastered by William Mackee from the original master tape recorded in 1960 by Decca engineer Kenneth Wilkinson. This 2017 edition is pressed at Quality Record Pressing, and is housed in a deluxe textured jacket with gold foil embossing. I also had a treasured original first US pressing on the shaded dog label, with 1S/1S stampers, that was pressed in RCA's Indianapolis plant. It also features a gold embossed, matte textured sleeve. Third up is the Classic Records edition, mastered from the original master tape by Bernie Grundman, pressed at RTI. Last, but not least is the 1975 London Stereo Treasury release, pressed in the UK by Decca.
