K.D Lang - Ingenue Sire/Warner Because Sound Matters One Step Edition (2025) You can read my full review at https://www.audiophilia.com/reviews/2025/4/6/kd-lang-ingenuebecause-sound-matters-one-step-vinyl-2025 You can hear a clip created by my friend Oswaldo Martinez at his Youtube channel, Let There Be Sound. https://youtu.be/dPla8QhsoY8?si=UCAsRdrhQKLe6jXa K.D. Lang's second solo album, Ingénue has just been reissued for the first time in a AAA cut from the master tape. The new reissue is mastered from the original analog master tape by Chris Bellman at Bernie Grundman Mastering. This edition of Ingenue employs the One Step process and is pressed at RTI on 180gm High Definition Vinyl. The gatefold jacket and slipcase are from Stoughton Printing. K. D. Lang's Ingénue was released in 1992. There was a vinyl issue released in Europe at the time, but most countries had to content themselves with the CD or cassette tape versions. Although it was recorded to analog tape, that record and of course the CD were from digital. The recording was made at Vancouver Studios by Greg Penny and Marc Ramaer. I've copied and pasted the credits for the additional musicians on each song from Discogs to show the wide variety in instrumentation of this record: Save Me Acoustic Bass – David Piltch Lap Steel Guitar – Greg Leisz Tambura [Tamboura] – k.d. lang The Mind Of Love Steel Guitar – Greg Leisz Miss Chatelaine Strings [Guest Pizzicato] – Martin Laba Wash Me Clean Acoustic Guitar – k.d. lang Acoustic Guitar [Solo] – Ben Mink Electric Guitar – Ben Mink Marimba – Gary Burton Pedal Steel Guitar – Greg Leisz So Shall It Be Drum Machine [Beat Box] – Greg Penny Guitar – k.d. lang Still Thrives This Love Acoustic Bass – David Piltch Acoustic Guitar – Ben Mink Cello – John Friesen Clarinet – Myron Schultz Mandolin – k.d. lang Marimba – Gary Burton Percussion – Sal Ferreras Santoor [Santur] – Teddy Borowiecki Strings [Guest Pizzicato] – Ingrid Friesen Season Of Hollow Soul Cello – John Friesen Clarinet – Myron Schultz Timpani – Graham Boyle Vocals [Additional] – Rosel Zech Outside Myself Electric Bass [Fretless] – David Piltch Keyboards – Teddy Borowiecki Steel Guitar – Greg Leisz Tambourine – Graham Boyle Tears Of Love's Recall Acoustic Guitar – Ben Mink Cello – John Friesen Constant Craving Vocals [Additional] – Sue Leonard Numbered, Limited Edition Strict One-Time Pressing of 3,000 Copies All-Analog (AAA) One-Step Vinyl Version Neotech VR900-D2 180g High Performance Vinyl Audio Source: Original Analog Master Tapes First Time the Original Analog Master Tapes Have Been Used as a Vinyl Source Vinyl Mastering by Chris Bellman at Bernie Grundman Mastering One-Step Process by Dorin Sauerbier at Record Technology, Inc.
