Genesis Selling England By The Pound - AP Atlantic 75 Series Vinyl

In this video I explore the magical world of Genesis Selling England By The Pound. The new Analogue Productions Atlantic 75 Series release is partially repressed from the original metalwork that was created for Classic Records by mastering engineer Chris Bellman. The proposed Classic Records 45 was never released, but a few test pressings eventually made it out to a few lucky collectors. Side two of the new edition was recut from the original master tape by Chris Bellman for reasons unknown. The new edition is a two record set cut at 45, pressed on 180gm vinyl by Quality Record Pressings and presented in a numbered Stoughton film laminated gatefold jacket. I had three other pressings of Selling England By The Pound on hand to compare, an 1975 UK pressing with a 420 matrix, The EMI 100, as well as the Classic 33 cut by Chris Bellman. Listening to this recording again has been such a pleasure, and even the 12 plays that took place did not diminish the magnificence of the album. One pressing definitely rose to the top of the heap.
