Evosound has entered the audiophile arena — and they’ve done it in style. This limited-edition One Step pressing of Fourplay’s 1995 contemporary jazz classic Elixir marks the label’s first major foray into premium reissues. Limited to just 1,000 numbered copies, this 2LP gray translucent vinyl set was remastered from the original analog tapes, promising the best sound this album has ever had on vinyl. In this video, I dive into the packaging, pressing quality, mastering, and of course — how it sounds. Spoiler: this one really impressed me. Note: As of publication, i have no specifics on mastering engineer or pressing plant. sourcing seems to indicate an original tape was involved for this title, but it is possible this is ADA.
