I was not happy with the AI tools in coding ides, as I more and more use Claude Code and Codex to build stuff. It took me months to find the dev setup that feels right. And I think I found it. In the screenshot you see iTerm2 + iTerm2 Browser Plugin on the right. I made a video where I give deep insights into my setup and how I can manage to work on multiple projects without going crazy. Since I found this setup, I feel very calm, focused and productive. The best is, it’s all open source, not dependent on a AI vendor and fully customizable. My setup: Left sidebar: multiple projects as tabs First Panel: Code agent Second Panel: npm run dev Third Panel: generic terminal for whatever I need, lazygit, git, remote machine, etc Right: Browser (within iTerm2!) This setup allows me to switch between projects very quickly and keep context for each tab/project. I recently shared this setup in my team, and it was interesting to see that everybody has found a workflow which is --- somewhat ok but not ideal. How does your dev setup look like? It's built on iterm2 with the new browser plugin: https://iterm2.com/index.html https://iterm2.com/documentation-web.html
