In this video I show you the best and easiest way to build a complete backend for a cross-platform mobile app—whether you’re in Flutter, React Native, or Expo. The goal is simple: one centralized backend where everything stays synced across Android, iOS, desktop, and web. I walk through INSFORGE.dev (ins.dev) and why it’s a cheat code for indie devs: a generous free tier (up to 50,000 monthly active users) plus database, bandwidth, and storage that’s actually enough to ship and grow. Then I go hands-on: I create a fresh Flutter project, open it in VS Code, and connect the INSFORGE MCP server directly into my AI code editor (I used Augment Code, but Cursor/Windsurf/etc. work too). Once MCP is connected, I literally just prompt for an auth system (with social login), run the app, and it works—email verification included—without me manually building backend APIs or writing SQL. After that, I extend it with AI content generation inside the app, store results in the database, and show how INSFORGE handles tables, indexes, and RLS policies automatically. The big takeaway: once MCP is wired up, it’s smooth sailing—your editor + the MCP server can build and evolve the backend from prompts.
