🔍Hidden in the Bush: We Found the Old Gold‑Rush Tunnel 💰

After days of rain, sickness, mud and everything in between, we finally got a small break in the weather — just long enough to chase down a tunnel we’d only heard whispers about. Somewhere up in the Victorian High Country is an old diversion tunnel carved through solid rock during the gold‑rush era. No signs, no clear directions… just a rough idea of where it might be. With the river rising from all the rain, we weren’t even sure it would be accessible. The boys were all in. Liz… not so much (caves and spiders aren’t her thing). But we managed to track it down, explore inside, and learn how miners diverted the river through this tunnel to expose the riverbed for gold. Back at camp, the rain returned — of course — so dinner on the fire turned into dinner under the awning. Not perfect, not glamorous… but very real. And honestly, days like this are why we love travelling the way we do. Next episode, we’re meeting up with some mates and heading deeper into the High Country for a 4WD adventure. We thought the challenge would be the tracks… turns out it might be something else entirely.
