In this birth vlog, I’m sharing my full story of going from a home birth plan to a failed induction and ultimately a C-section at 41 weeks and 5 days pregnant. I wanted to put this all in one place because I know how many of us go into late pregnancy with a clear “this is how it’s going to go” vision—especially when you’ve spent time planning a calm home birth—and then real life and medical decisions take the lead. This video is a very honest look at how quickly plans can change, and what that feels like in the moment. I also share this as a mum who’s used to planning (homeschool life will do that to you). Birth is one of those situations where you can prepare, research, and make choices—but you also have to hold it all with open hands. My biggest takeaway is that your birth is still your birth, even if it doesn’t look like the plan you made.
